Love this place! Great prices, affordable to take the whole family. The train is AWESOME. It's a steam engine and you can watch them shovel coal into it. The buildings are super neat.
I would love to see more recreations of historical Denver area buildings.
Tiny Town is a well organized, non-profit run, family friendly attraction. It's great to see a part of Denver history since the attraction is over 100 years old. The small buildings spur imagination, and create discussions about what you need in a town. If you visit multiple times, you can create your own scavenger hunt to make it interesting each time.
Did not buy the concession food, so cannot speak to the quality or cost.
Bottom line: fun affordable activity for family mostly for children under 10 years old.
Lots of fun to visit and see the details of the tiny houses. The train ride is fun as well. The prices are reasonable and there is a gift shop and some concessions (though they close before Tiny Town so we weren't able to shop last time we were there).
I recommend!
Free parking across the street. Limited to approximately 50 slots (a guess).
Tiny Town small theme park that features scale buildings and a miniature railroad. Some of the buildings have interiors, which the kids love looking in to see. Some of the buildings are open on the back or front and the kids can go in to them. The door openings are smaller, so age 5 or 6 is probably about the largest size child that can enter.
There is a nice train that goes around the perimeter of the park, with flatcar seating and a caboose at the end (about 6 kids can ride in the caboose).
Great for small children to run around and have fun. The train ride is okay, at about 10 minutes from start to finish, but at $2.00 each per ride, not a lot to see. Limited activities, mostly looking at the miniature houses, a playground area, and an area with picnic tables for a picnic, so you can bring you own food/snacks. Good place do 2-5 year olds, but not older kids, for a couple of hours, but not an all-day place.
The volunteer run stream locomotives are a highlight of the visit to Tiny Town. Definitely can't be missed. It is a short 9 minute ride and it's another opportunity to find little details and funny scenes.
There are plenty of places for picnicking and as playground for a break from walking.
The prices at the park were reasonable. Admission for adults was around $5 each, and train rides were around $2 each. For a visit by an extended family along with train rides I ended up spending about $35. My kids are on the younger side (ages 3 to 5) and took about 40 minutes to go through all the miniature buildings, played at the playground at the end for about 15 minutes, and the train ride is about 8 minutes long, so overall our visit was a little over an hour.
