Very soon they are going to be investigated by Feds, for misconduct. The "Brady law" restricts offices from manipulating information and they cannot serve in law enforcement if they are in violation of the law, a law that they are supposed to protect. If it is shown to involve criminal misconduct than a charge of criminal conspiracy can be brought in. This will result in extremely hefty fines and jail time for the officers involved. The fines ultimately will be passed onto the residents of the town of Morrison. The officers will serve time.
Really disheartened on Father's Day to be pulled over at Mt. Vernon and Market Street by Officer Missiha for my husband rolling thru a red and given a $135 ticket on the way to Red Rocks for a concert. We were nice, I was crying bc that's just what happens when I get stressed out. My husband admittedly thought it was a yield on this TINY backstreet and the officer pulled out right behind us and we immediately pulled over after 10 feet. A passerby who is a local in Morrison asked me thru my passenger window what happened. I told him and he said this is a regular "trap" at this intersection that police officers pull to mess with concert goers and make a cool $135 for rolling thru a BACK street stop sign. Apparently this is their local racket to lay in wait when there's congestion due to concerts and why they have the most tickets and fines that bring in revenue in the state of CO. The officer could have given us a warning as we admittedly said we rolled thru and thought it was a yield. We asked him to please give us a break, clean records and model citizens. It was Father's Day after all. We just wanted a relaxing day. He stated he had to work on Father's Day and he was giving us a ticket and didn't care. I then began to cry more and we left. Not a nice person. Surely there's a more productive job for Officer Missiha on a Sunday evening actually doing some good and focusing on CRIME. Petty traffic tickets are this PD's claim to fame from now what I've read online and heard from locals. BEWARE rolling thru Morrison, Co to enjoy some music responsibly as a citizen with NO traffic tickets or record. The officer was petty and grumpy. Ridiculous. We will be there for court to fight this. What a waste of resources and time.
I want to thank the Morrison Police Department for their diligence in patrolling their jurisdiction on Hwy 285 and C470. I have been living in the Conifer area for many years and the growth has caused many accidents. There are posted speed limits to keep people safe especially through Turkey Creek Canyon and the Morrison police keep it safe.. Jefferson County police should learn from Morrison.
Department was extremely helpful in returning lost wallet with help of local citizens. Very grateful.
Nothing more than tax collectors with a badge and a gun. They exist only to drive revenue for the town and fund their own little boys' club that they use to buy fun toys to play with. Colorado really needs to pass a law like other states have that limit the percentage of a municipality's budget can be driven by traffic citations. Put an end to Morrison's racket of taxation by citation.
